Guest EncoreWRC
I want to get a decat front pipe to remove the first decat of my TT. I have a quewstion about the O2 Sensor which is in the original down pipe. Do the decat pipes come with the fitting for this or what is done with the O2 sensor?? Soonto_HAS_soop
O2 sensor is in the turbo housing and not in the cat pipe at all.
Jake
The O2 sensor stays in the same place and isn't touched by decatting. Edit: Bah! Too slow

Chris Wilson
It's not an O2 sensor, it's a cat overheat thermocouple, when you decat you tie it up out of the way (DO NOT remove or disconnect...). It is then redundant as there is no cat TO overheat.
Jake
Which models have this cat temp sensor? Is it NAs only? My 98 VVTi doesn't have one and I don't recall one on my 93 RZ either.

I've unplugged mine and no dash lights have come on indicating a problem (ie: engine fault). Admittedly I havent taken it for a run yet as Im doing some work on the brakes at the moment but when the engine is running there are no visible warnings. Soemetimes the ecu will flag a fault cose with the MIL light showing.
