stupra
Any of you guys been on this site ?, cant be the right stuff surely ? http://www.speedways.co.uk
Ian W
yeah it's right. they're also on an exchange basis mate.
Kranz
They are exchange reconditioned calipers, so you have to have a set of 4 pot calipers in the first place! I'm sure you can buy a reconditioning kit cheaper, and go for stainless pistons at the same time?
stupra
I didn't read they were exchange calipers, doh, just thought they were cheap UK's. (To cheap, hence the question).

Scooter
I didn't read they were exchange calipers, doh, just thought they were cheap UK's. (To cheap, hence the question). they are exchange, but when i looked for soem j-spec ones there was only a £40-80 surcharge charged if you didn't return your old units.........so it could still be worth it? stupra
Well if thats the case, it'll only be around £140 per caliper, so thats pretty good aint it. Anyone done that ?, any repercussion ?.
Scooter
here is there returns/surcharge policy seems like if you don't return your old ones they are happy with the £60 extra per caliper?
stupra
Could be the way to go then ?, their product is warrented for three years. £160 per caliper is pretty good.
Guru
Ok in a 200mph car would you want the cheaper option brakes parts?
stupra
From what they say on the site, they are as good as new Guru, so might be cheaper, but they are still UK spec brakes, with a three year warrenty.
n00b
i did this but with chris wilson.... he was very honest and gave me advice .. brakes turned up on time and wheni had fitted the recon ones i sent mine back to him ... give him a ring mate i was well chuffed n00b
Guru
I would trust CW enough to do this rather than some website. And a three year warranty is no good if you're dead cos of them!
stupra
Well each to there own Guru, but they cant be that bad, they've been around for 25 years. They qoute as good as new, or better.
n00b
hmmm better than new?
stupra
Something to do with new coatings on the pistons, or summit like that. I dunno, just going by what i read. An no, i dont believe all i read.
Seb
There just happens to be a group buy on UK brakes right now, organised by Nic himself. We only need one more order I think! Go on!
stupra
What are the prices Seb ?, I might go for fronts an rears if the price is good.
Scooter
Stupra FWIW i think Guru's concerns are unfounded...... .....Speedways and Brakes international both use Budweg. Budweg apparently do 7000 units a week. On Budweg.com in the calipers section there are 21 PAGES of Toyota calipers alone.
Seb
What are the prices Seb ?, I might go for fronts an rears if the price is good. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=70150 Here's the group buy thread, best prices I've seen for brand new UK calipers
