JohnK Posted June 11, 2006 Share Posted June 11, 2006 You need the car (bottom of sil) over 18" off the ground to be comfortable, if you cant get it that high think again! Also the list of parts you need varys between cars eg. I had to replace a driveshaft - im sure LeeT told me he never. Also me and lee used the 6 speed rear mount not the auto one like it says on the MKIV.com write up. Some parts of the job are a right bastard - but which parts tend to vary person to person. It is a LOT of work and not to be undertaken lightly. Also A more cost effective option maybe to get a written off donor car. At least that way you know you have everything, you know its in good order (or not) and you know you have taken it off with care and its not been ripped off the car with a hammer and gas axe.
