Chris Wilson Posted January 6, 2004 Share Posted January 6, 2004 No time for a detailed reply, but basically they are far too big to control without a really GOOD ecu, like a motec. Cheap ecus will not accurately do the ultra short dwell time needed to make these monsters idle properly or give decent low speed and progression. I'd say go for the correct size for the application. When you build a3 litre engine that NEEDS these massive squirters good idle won't be a consideration as it should have big cams and pretty useless low speed power band. Alternatively run twin injector rails, but we are getting into mucho expense and custom built stuff, but with that you could have idle and top end, if the rest of the engine build supported it (VVTi perhaps?).
