Strut Brace Problem

Paul,

Which TRD Strut brace is it as I think there's two, this one

And this one

When I ordered it I was expecting the first as I had no idea there were two types. I've had the second for a couple of years now and the paints flaking and starting to rust, not impressed.

Not sure what make mine is, just that it's chrome with black ends. Can you trim the vent? I would have done this but wouldn't that be bad? I mean it's there for a reason right???

Paul

You could, of course, apply the same logic to the fact that the Supra was never supplied with a strut brace by the factory :)

Am I right in thinking that there is one between the rear struts? so must be needed there but not at the front.. because of rear wheel drive?

Interesting, but how many cars do come with a brace from the factory, the only one that springs to mind is BMW M3 GT Special Edition...

It'll be cost saving more than anything else.

Is Gaz working you with his foot? - Have a look at my previous post.......if the mkiv needed a strut brace, it would have been supplied with one.

lol

I know you stance on how you like the Supra as standard Gordon, but on the other hand think of it this way:

Why would TRD make one for the Supra if it provided no benefit over stock?

I think as a car for a die hard track enthusiast it would be beneficial. But as Toyota probably saw the car as being a motorway cruising machine they didnt go for it as there is no need for 95% of daily driving or even high speed driving.

Just my 2c :)
