Lewis
f'kin pi$$ing arsing annoyed!!! A bird shit on the roof of the car yesterday (must have been the morning/early afternoon), washed it AS SOON as I got in (about 5) it had already burnt into the paint. With a sponge, I hammered into the birdshit to try and remove it all, as it dried my face dropped..............I should have washed the f'king sponge first. I have just put about 50 hairline scratches into the paint. I have turtlewax colour magic (black - same as the car) and a buffing compound, neither of which seem to make any difference. Anyone tried meguires Scratch X or anything else that is worth me trying?ideally, something to stain the paint back to black (I know that sounds like bollox but that would be ideal based on the damage) Worst thing is, I have just had all the roof and rear quarters sprayed, I really don't want to have to pay for the same job again. Pete
I would imagine that scratch compound stuff would only make it worse. I'd go back to the paint shop and ask their opinion as I really would not expect this after a few hours.

uk-rich
the paint should be cured by then, seeing as they would have baked it too i have some very small scratches on front wing, 2000 grit wet and dry used soaking wet and very lightly, then polised out with auto glym paint renovator. mine is silver so hides marks very well though. steady is the order of the day blacks very good at showing marks
