Ian C Posted May 10, 2006 Share Posted May 10, 2006 Ian, I wasn't having a pop at you or the E-manage but even you would have to agree that a stand alone system offers far more in terms of adjustablility than a piggy back. If that is incorrect, then a lot of us guys out there have all been bamboozled by going for the F-Con, AEM, Motec and Autronic and should have spent our money more wisely on the E-Manage system. Another big factor for me was the number of experienced tuners who could map the car using a standalone. Other than you (who has spent months getting to the level you are at) there are not too many commercial tuners who are experienced with the e-manage system and as someone who wants to have it tuned and left alone (rather than tweak) it was important that I had that choice. That can read as me being defensive but it wasn't meant like that. It was just the fact's m'lud I don't care who uses what as long as they aren't being misled, and you weren't misleading. The standalones can perform much better I'm sure, but at how much £ and time to get it to that level? it's something the prospective buyer needs to figure out for themselves if it's worth it to them. b_have Posted May 10, 2006 Share Posted May 10, 2006 Edit - Also I'm sure most people know I like the E-Manage, especially the Ultimate I've not been in a standalone'd-up car so I can't comment on how much "better" it is, but I get steady AFRs, it hasn't blown up yet, it's pulling 600+bhp on the highest boost setting but fuels correctly for 0.8, 0.9, 1.2, and 1.4bar with the one map, and it's lovely and driveable around town, plus on a steady cruise I get 25+mpg. And it starts on the turn of the key, cold starts correctly, idles nicely at 900rpm, etc etc etc so define "better" -Ian Can't wait till Saturday How much are the T67 DBBs? Are they a stock item now?
