Well i took the top of the radiator cap when the engine was

running to check for bubbles (there was none)

it was when the engine would automatically rev,

perhaps for a/con or whatever,

it would swell , then settle back for a while............

please dont tell me its a serious fault :(

Well, its all gone wrong again over the past few days,

chugging sounds are back, idle is crap, strange noises

on acceleration, performance drop off etc.. etc...

phoned JIC - they didnt want to know really, they wanted me

to contact the Warranty company and get someone there to

deal with it !

so much for the JIC customer service

so booked it in with JIC's local garage to take a look at it !

if its just some spark plug problem - then they can swap it

for free cos they "supposedly" changed the plugs at its last

service 3000 miles ago !!!!!!!

anything serious, then they can fix it and i can complain to JIC

there and then !!!!!!

f*** f*** f*** !

Get them to have a look at the fuel regulator. I had a faulty one fitted recently to my car and a lot of those symptoms sound familiar.

Or it could be an intermittant electrical fault, antagonised by the recent weather.

I am surprised at what you have said about JIC's attitude, maybe there is something afoot at JIC.

Quote: from ajefford on 1:52 pm on Nov. 26, 2001[br]and it gets worse - or better ??????

now its idleing at 2000 rpm !!!!!!!!!!

for ages this morning and last night it was up to 2000rpm

without the a/c on !!!!

could it be a sensor failure - one of those probe things,

lamdaprobe is it called?!?!?!

roll on friday !

Sounds like a failrly big air leak into the intake somewhere, but it could be hundred other possibilities. Try pouring a dribble of water around the intake with it running, and see if it alters the engine sound. It's a quick and dirty way to find a leak, good for finding leaky injector to manifold seals for example.
