New brake discs, j-spec

flukey-lukey

Recommended Posts

Hi all, think I need a new pair of front discs on my '94 j-spec auto tt as I think they are warped due to hard braking...

When driving normally they work fine, but when braking hard or from a speed above 60 they seem to grind and I get a very very slight wobbley feeling coming through the steering wheel!!?!??

My guess is the discs r warped, but hey i'm not a mechanic!!

Any ideas? And if it is the discs that need replacing which would be best without spending crazy money?

Cheers in advance, Luke :)

Luke, you'll get similar symptoms if one of your wheel bearings is worn, jack the car up and see if there's any side to side play of the wheel on the hub.

If you do need new discs, your best bet would be to get a set of new replacement OEM discs from Toyota, or you could propably pick up some cheap second hand ones from a member, who has upgraded to the larger spec brakes.
