Homer
I could be wrong but I thought platinum plugs were a no-no on turbo cars. Even so, £14 is a joke, NGK's at £2ish each will provide exactly the same performance. Your last plugs must have been knackered!
Tricky-Ricky
Been using NGK platinum's in all my turbo cars for the last five years, i prefer them to iridiums, as there not so fragile.

Pixelfill
I feel for ya mate, no-one likes to feel they've got a bad deal - never mind have their faces rubbed in it. Hopefully this will be a lesson learned for next time Mike

Why? they're stupidly expensive and offer no benfit over NGK BKR7E' Okay, they have to be changed more often but at 1/6 of the price you can't argue. Alex
They saw you coming! £14 each?? For taht you could have has more than 6 sets of Copper plugs....about 4 years worth....or 2 sets of Iridiums! And iridiums don't kill engines bad maps do! The iridium is so hard that the ceramic part dies first after exposure to extreme det. Unfortunatley for your turbo and your engine...usually the piston is also knackered and the ceramic bits damage the turbo's...but it's all cause you were detting the nuts off it. An engine running properly will not melt plugs or pistons. But if you think you are at risk you should be running coppers as the plugs melt (relatively harmlessly) before engine damage occurs. Internet rumours about Iridiums being bad is tosh IMO...it's bad mapping. The FAQ is here!!! (edited to add upto £14 for Platinums...lol)

(never melted a plug yet) just rather have a melted plug than a melted piston, and i have seen a few broken iridiums screw engines after a bit of det on a hot day! was just being lazy in explaining my reasons before:)
andrew7
I found these comments from an engine tuner in Oz: "My soarer is the best simple test of this, using Platinum we can run 60,000 miles before they literally die in a few short miles [really!, 100 miles and the car won't start!] until that point the spark is as good as when first fitted, the Iridiums are shot within 9,000 miles and degrade slowly, meaning the power is sliding off in a deceitful slight of hand manner." There's nothing wrong with plats in a turbo as long as the heat range is correct. They work the same as coppers, but last longer, that's all...
