Suspension for Nurburgring?

Not quite sure what to do for the best here.

I may be going to Nurburgring at some point this year and have read a few posts regarding suspension. I currently have Eibach Lowering springs and KYB gas-ajust dampers.

Whilst on fast A-roads the car handles pretty well, it can be a bit 'crashy' around town and can be skittish over potholes etc. (I've never been too convinced with the KYBs). It's also rather low when it comes to speed bumps, and I'm concerned about the wheels hitting the wheel arch liners if I do go to the Ring.

I have a set of J-spec springs which I'm thinking of getting fitted to see how the car feels, but thought that I may as well get replacement dampers fitted at the same time.

What are peoples thoughts on Bilsteins with standard J-spec springs for daily driving and would this be suitable for the Ring?

I'm thinking that if I can get some decent 2nd hand Bilsteins, I'm up for seeing how I get on. If I need to buy new, I may as well go straight for the Chris Wilson set-up as this would probably be the best solution all round.

Any thoughts or recommendations??

The ring is a lot rougher in places than you think, you will still need a good amount of suspension travel to maximise your speed through corners such at the carousel.

Yeah that's what I thought, hence the J-spec springs I picked up a while ago. Need to find some Bilsteins (missed the ones on here for £100 a few weeks ago!) and see how that works. (If you get any come in, first dibbs)

My fast road set up is just that. It'll work fine for a car drive mainly on the roads and doing the odd track day, but a car doing ONLY track days, but driven to and from them, on the roads, could do with a much stiffer set up. the on road bit will be unpleasant though, and much more of a compromise. I can offer a more track day orientated geo set up, maintaining pleasant on road stiffness. Everything is a compromise, even on a full race set up, (wet or dry, fast or slow corners, traction optimised, blah blah).

95% of the Nurburgring is a consistent smooth racinig surface... very kind to all suspension setups.... the only places where suspension travel is possibly an issue is on the karousel and the mini-karousel ... (the banked corners).

There is also a couple of compression areas on the track where the car will use a lot of suspension travel.

If you read my post on the Nurburgring trip details (in the events section) I've mentioned about spring assistors... fit these little babies and you'll find it impossible to ground out your srpings.
