Mike
well I graduated from there in 1996, so a fair while ago... to be honest I couldn't tell you what colour it was when I lived there..!! Also liked The Variety and The Lamb (and Packet?).. bit of an odd one that though... that was before the days of the Irish pub invasion...

Pixelfill
The Lamb and Packet used to do an awesome Sunday lunch. Big Yorkshire Pud with sheets of Beef and loads of veggies. Used to spend a lot of time in the University Tavern as well, when I was staying in the halls. They painted the entire exterior of the Adelphi bright Yellow, I think it was around '98 or so, and it became one of those "it's a scream" pubs. you know the chain of cheap student pubs. that and Roper Hall on Friargate. Mike
...and Roper Hall on Friargate. god I remember doing a resit in there in my first year..?! and now it's a pub..?! we used to have lectures in that little theatre place behind there too.. Is Mrs Christmas still there? and the bloke who sells gas lighters outside Friargate shopping center? The student rag, (Pluto?) used to do a cartoon strip on him... 'gaz' lighter, as he was affectionately known... and there used to be this bloke who used to walk a donkey through the town to Morrisons to get his shopping... and people talk to you in bus queues... ahhh Preston, I totally loved it... so friendly.. I'm moving back...

loks
yep Jamaica inn is cool. A couple of years ago, I was back visiting the UK (first time in 12 years!) and went to visit some old friends from HK, living in Cheltenham (Yes Pot...). When I got there I found they were still working, so decided to go for a drive. Drove to the Jamaica Inn on Bodmin, had a pint and drove back again....
