Dave222
Just got my kit and hoping to fit it next week, do you have to remove the large electric fan to fit it and if so what do you do with it?
Lucifer
Yes and you WILL need to replace it with a SPAL 14" Pull fan.
Steve
I didnt refit any fan. And my aircon still feels cold even in warm temperatures.
Dave222
If you fit the Spal fan does it pull air through the intercooler ? and if so does't that make it worse ?

Lucifer
Its not alot to do with your aircon dudes.... Its about sticking a huge aluminium heat condenser infront of the radiators airflow. Depends how safe you want your engine to be. Heat is the biggest killer ... anyone else want to back me up here?

Lucifer
Bugger!!! Wanted to reword it a bit better:p I see what you are saying, and you were correct, but its not about replacing a stock fan, its about generating more air flow (well at least replacing it) because of a lump of aluminium stuck in its path, and thus warmer air as a result after cooling the I/Cooler. Nic
A lot of my driving is in town, in temps up to around 40C and had no problems with overheating due to my HKS R-Type FMIC blocking airflow to the rad
veilsideTT
Never had any "visible" rise in the temp gauge since putting my 3Row on. Do all types of driving! Mainly slow built up area pose mode driving!
Lucifer
Ok guys, well each do it our own way, but I bet my engine's last longer
Terminator
I think we have to be careful here as we are not comparing like with like. It is not just about the additon of the FMIC, it is about airflow the size of the appature and how well sealed the intake can be. We all know the stock SMIC in good condition does a very good job because a huge %of available air is forced throu ghit not round it. The stock fan shifts huge volumes of air so if it pulls all it's air through the IC and rad then it will probably be OK. If not a secondary fan to assist the rad is a good idea. As a fail safe I certainly will stick in an extra fan, worth the extra few £'s for peace of mind.
Nic
Ok guys, well each do it our own way, but I bet my engine's last longer Why will it last longer? Temps are fine on mine so why is mine going to last less time?
Terminator
Why will it last longer? Temps are fine on mine so why is mine going to last less time? But we live over here, it is always cold so we have an advantage.
