Wanted to reword it a bit better:p

 

I see what you are saying, and you were correct, but its not about replacing a stock fan, its about generating more air flow (well at least replacing it) because of a lump of aluminium stuck in its path, and thus warmer air as a result after cooling the I/Cooler.

I think we have to be careful here as we are not comparing like with like. It is not just about the additon of the FMIC, it is about airflow the size of the appature and how well sealed the intake can be. We all know the stock SMIC in good condition does a very good job because a huge %of available air is forced throu ghit not round it. The stock fan shifts huge volumes of air so if it pulls all it's air through the IC and rad then it will probably be OK. If not a secondary fan to assist the rad is a good idea. As a fail safe I certainly will stick in an extra fan, worth the extra few £'s for peace of mind.
