dark stranger Posted January 16, 2006 Share Posted January 16, 2006 got in the soop to go home ,went to start and..............nothing,tried again a few times....just a loud click....clock and heater dials faded out....tried again a few times and started.......battery or starter motor????....any help very welcome....my soop would have been wrecked if iit stayed where it was all night!!!!! Type 005 battery I think. Halfords do a reasonable Calcium one for ~£50. My car looks like it could have taken a bigger battery but 005 is the one apparently. Supradan Posted January 16, 2006 Share Posted January 16, 2006 My mates surf had the same prob turned out to be starter brushes but could be a multitude of things bad connection to starter,battery terminals loose,bad earth strap,dead battery etc etc .....easy enough to check all of these except starter brushes best leave these as a last resort(they are easy to fit and very cheap)lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
