Bobbeh
P&O Dover - Calais ferry is easy to use, its cheap and runs frequently, that and the tunnel are good options I'd go on the Ferry cos you can relax a bit and eat in comfort.
Peter10654
hi pete , which way are you coming over here , fly , ferry ? Hi Peter, flight to the 15th January to Newcastle. I think over to drive to Germany if the weather isn't to bad in UK ? Have heard that you all have much of snow, but maybe the major routes are clear. I would like to drive the M1 from Newcastle to London and around London to Dover. What do you think how long to drive ? 6 hours ?? Any Infos about speedlimits? P&O Dover - Calais ferry is easy to use, its cheap and runs frequently, that and the tunnel are good options I'd go on the Ferry cos you can relax a bit and eat in comfort. Thx a lot, think i will do it by ferry. I little bit comfort isn't bad. Do you know where i can check the costs ? Thx Peter
Faye
When we popped over to Germany in the summer we used the tunnel. Nice people even let us go on the bottom half of the train so none of us grounded on the ramps.

JohnK
also try speed ferries, a lot cheaper than p&o usually but not many sailings per day. http://www.speedferries.com/
Gaz Walker
I'd go from Hull > Zeebruge, save £££ in petrol. Gaz.
Need4Speed
Speed limits (does nobody admit to knowing them?) 70mph on Dual and M/way, 60 otherwise unless indicated. 30 in towns unless indicated. Newcastle to London the A1 is usually a better bet, but the M1 might be easier to follow. Are you planning to stop in London? otherwise use the M25 and M20 to Dover. The tunnel is on the M20 before you get to Dover and the ferries are all out of Dover Eastern docks. Allow 6 hours Newcastle to London and at least 2 for London to Dover. If it's wet allow more time. Expect inexplicable traffic jams and delays and you can't go wrong. Watch out for speed cameras... Personally I'd use Eurotunnel (quick but can be pricey) or Speed Ferries (very simple fares structure). If you're going to Nürburgring, are you just looking or expecting to drive. I don't know if it's open, but in any case it's in the Eifel mountains and gets a lot of snow. All the channel crossings can be booked on the internet: Check ou P&O Ferries, Sea France, Speed Ferries and Eurotunnel. Lastly - I'm puzzled because your location says "Germany". Need4Speed
A one way ticket? Don't use Eurotunnel!
Gaz Walker
how far is hull from newcastle gaz , sounds a better idea than driving down to dover Yep, its about 140 miles from the airport Peter... Newcastle to Dover is 350 miles. And Zeebruge is closer to Germany than Calais. Gaz,
