carl0s
My water pump is getting a bit squeaky. Not a lot, but it detracts from the overall sewing-machine smoothness of the engine. Does anyone know if these are expensive? I'm presuming it's the water pump anyway - it's on the uppermost right of the accessory-belt routing and looks fairly basic. carl0s
I see a lot of people recommending removal of the crank damper pulley, which seems strange, but Alex says he just removed the belts which sounds more like it. Guess I'd better get ready to buy a new one anyway.

Dude, that's your power steering pump. If they go squeaky it could be bearing failure. Have a look here and see if it looks like the same bit of kit? -Ian

I had not used the car for about three days due to hangover, and it had been quite a bit frozen. It's been fine since that first journey. I guess I'll see how it goes..
