I remember my days of stripping down various Minis - and the instructions in the Haynes manual for removal of the front wheel bearings said "lightly tap with a soft-faced mallet" Well , the seized bearing in question required a 7lb lump hammer and 6ft of steel piping to shift it. Done them, they can be a bitch, you need a 50 ton press to be sure of shifting the buggers, not for the feint hearted or a job to do in the home garage, to be honest. A lathe is handy to turn up some mandrel tools, unless you want to buy the genuine MrT special tools (EXPENSIVE, no doubt...) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Chris W supplied the bearing (i wont say how much in case the price has changed, but cheap) and leon fitted it for about £100. Have you asked the Toyota near you how much just for fitment.
