Pre-spool

As soem of you know, I've got Stu's old car.  Now it's got a bleed valve on it, but I've noticed that pre-spool and no.2 don't seem to be behaving themselves properly (am I to be forever cursed with boost probs?)

At the moment, it doesn't even seem to start pre-spooling until about 4000 rpm, with no.2 not really coming in until about 5000.  when it does, it does so with a violent shove.  This is rather different to how the white car behaved, which did it's thang exactly like I thought it should (when it wasn't pre-spooling at 2500...).

Could it be the bleed valve causing this problem?

What other piping mods have been done?

Is the sequential setup changed to be true twin. i.e. the sequential prespool VSV is disconnected or bypassed? On top of the engine, top of the turbos towards the back near the fire wall, two parallel pipes should be coming from it.

Easiest way to test the bleeder is to shut it completely off or replace the piping to stock and then see.

I doubt it's actually the bleeder causing the problem.

Well, don't know what it was, but it's sorted now.  Shut off the BV, and all was fine, opened it up again, and all is fine.  Weird.

As an aside - what's the highest boost you can safely run on UK turbos?  At the moment it's set to 1.1bar, but spikes a little to 1.2bar.  All I use is SUL - should I add some booster to be safe?
