Specific grounding kit

Yep. My car feels smoother, starts a bit better and idles better. You also get brighter headlamps and your stereo is louder :)

There is also supposed to be a hp gain through fitting these, but I wouldnt like to comment.

For £40 its a good thing.

was going to get this until i spoke to an auto electrician who told me that there is no need for them at all and went into very technical reasons that went straight over my head, one that i did understand is that earth is earth, you cannot improve a good one, and seeing as they are all good when they roll off the production line, the only thing you may have to do is make sure stock grounding points are clean and good.

Todd have a look on the Miami GT website for the supra grounding kit :)

Richard, it doesnt replace any wires, you just add wires to the existing earthing system by mounting them on common earthing points such as bolts on the wing, bulkhead etc. Dead easy job, takes no longer than 30 mins.

I have made my own kits for over a decade. I also remove all the paint from the stock grounding points. Toyota do a lame job on this, sometimes the earthing point is the bolt threads as the end ring only contacts with paint. The larger clean contact area means less restriction to current demands as demonstrated in high power hi-fi installations. I achieved way faster bass response in my sub by doing this, brighter headlights etc.

In theory the std earthing works fine, in practice it sucks. Some manufacturers that do a better job include Vaxhaull and VW.

would love someone to actually prove it wrong because for £40 it would be a great investment, but all i have heard is that people think it has improved things, and as for bling i think they loooook tacky. :p

Just a few thoughts for you to consider.

Anyone can see brighter lights

Anyone can hear faster bass

Do you think the like of HKS and other respectable company's would put their name on it if it was a fake?

You can make a very discreet DIY kit like I did which is not obvious under the bonnet.

You may improve the design by linking an 8 gauge cable across the chassis legs while making a complete engine bay circle rather than a star battery source style.

Current will flow via a hi-fi grade cable much faster with better transient demand response than toyotas cheapie specials.

Consider that the live goes direct to all places, however the earth has to go via various spot welded joints and various thickness of metal. Whats the chances of both positive and negative being of similar strength when it arrives at the component?.

anyone can see and here what they want to when they have just spent time and money on things ie. induction kit. :p

hks and other companies will tell you (to a certain degree) what you want to here. (fact)

next two stated by auto electrician :-current is not drawn in an earth.

an earth only needs to achieve a negative current/amp ie. doesnt matter how negative it is.

on the other hand you may be right, i am getting two views and just stated.

proof required

I have red and dark blue available - also do other colours (purple going on mine!)

I did not think that this would make a difference until reading a before / after dyno run in Modified mag on a scooby fitted with one.

HP improvement seen

Also my old supra deffo started better...

What have you got to loose?
