Connecting an iPod

I have a Kenwood head unit and quite fancy the idea of connecting my iPod to this for more choice and without the need to balance cds on my lap whilst driving. I've had a look on ebay and there's a few unites with adapters but I don't really want change the head unit as it's quite sexy. Doesn't play MP3's and such but it does me.

Does anyone use a universal adapter etc and can point me where to buy one?

Do you have one fo those Far? Is the sound really that good for only a few quid?

FM Transmitters are illegal in this country.

I have a Sony HU and use a Connects2 adapter that makes my HU treat the Ipod as a CD autochanger, sure you can get an alpine one - then you get to skip tracks/albums on the HU itself don't have to touch the ipod, plus you get MP3 Text displayed as CD Text  Also charges the ipod at the same time. Failing that, if you HU has an AUX RCA input just buy a 3.5mm jack to RCA cable and do it that way.........

Don't go for the iTrip unless you have absolutely no other option. When I used one it was unreliable, the sound quality was poor and when I went anywhere inside the M25 (maybe not a problem for you!), there were so many legit and pirate radio stations that it was impossible to get a clean signal.
