Have I got Jap or UK spec brakes?

My guess would be the fronts have either been swapped by the dealer onto another car. The rear calipers have seized (they tend to be the first to go) and the owner in Japan has upgraded to bigger brakes. Or it's had a shunt and had the brakes were replaced at one end.

Either way, as has been said, I'd either get a set of 2nd hand J-spec calipers put on the back if cash is tight, or a set of UK spec calipers on the front ASAP.

ok just had a thought. when imported my car had Supra wheels on. i can only guess they were 16".

would UK rear breaks fit in the standard Supra wheels, but UK fronts wouldnt?

which could be why they only fitted rears as they didnt wanna changes the wheels?

Yeah but why bother putting the rears on as they are more expensive than the fronts?
