Forgot about this till just now, but i had insomnia last night and finally got to bed at about 7am. When i finally slept i had a dream, and in this dream i was pregnant. Also i found out that i could access some computer database which would tell me when i was gonna have the baby. It turned out i had 6 hours till the arrival, and in the mean time i was allowed to go choose some music which would be played as things happened.

I got woken by my dad (probably for the best), but ended up going back to sleep. This time i dreamt i was hanging around with these to petty crimnials. Then while we were chatting 2 blokes turned up who claimed to be police and chased after us. I then thought to myself they weren't really police and so stopped and grabbed them both and told them i was doing a citezens arrest because they were impersanating police officers. I can't remember the rest in much detail but it turned out they were in the peace core and had let some of there friends die.

Anybody have any ideas what it means?? ANd yes before anyone says it, YES i am mad :looney: :help:

This is interesting - the pregnancy aspect of your dream points to a deep psychological desire to express your feminine side, a side which has been supressed due to social unnacceptance. Most men who dream about pregnancy are keen to come out of the closet and express their femininity on a more permanent basis but are too afraid to show it. However, this is further enhanced by the fraternisation with criminals who weren't criminals - basically masquerading - those in hiding. Being chased by men, well, that hardly needs too much of an explanation. The famous psychologist Alber Schteiner has linked these basic subconscious elements as, and I quote, "The oft mentioned male pregnancy harks to strong homosexual tendencies often masked by the wrappings of more macho paraphenalia (cars, bikes and trucks primarily) and offers cause for discussion with a psychologist or analyst". On impersonation and masquerading he says, "Hiding behind masks, masquerading as someone or something else, particularly those in authority (police, army or other armed forces) signifies a fear of revealing a true identity or desire. If, however, the individual is surrounded by, or is in the company of, those masquerading as someone/something else then another aspect of desire is revealed. As in chapter 2 the subject is expressing a subconscious need to express a homosexual side of their personality hitherto supressed." :faint:

I had a weird dream too last night. I dreamt I was in some kind of alien landscape like that of the xbox game Halo. I was trying to figure out how to get by a huge dam guarded by these flying robots. Then for some reason my dream switched to me having a spot of *ahem* backdoor action with Cameron Diaz.

Weird!

Weird!

I've had a dream with Cameron giving me a right sorting out - doesn't she go!! At least I was polite enough to use the front door!

Freud would have had a field day with that one.

Right - here's one of my favourite dream theories - the "activation synthesis" model:

During walking life Considering just vision for simplicity. In waking life, the eyes send signals to the visual cortex, which produces a pattern of electrical activity for each new thing seen. The frontal cortex uses memories to interpret this pattern. For example, your eyes see a picture of IanC, your visual cortex turns it into a pattern of activity and your frontal cortex goes "Ah, that's pattern number 82,445, which is IanC".

During dreaming The brainstem, for reasons unknown, sends signals to the visual cortex, making the f**ker flash on and off like Christmas lights. Random patterns of actvity are produced. The frontal cortex does its best to understand what is going on, attempting to interpret the activity as it does in waking life. It draws on memories old and new to try to weave the random activity into some sort of meaningful story.

The same is happening with the areas of the brain that normally receive messages from the ears and skin. Curiously, the brainstem doesn't spark up the centres dealing with taste and smell, which might be why we don't usually smell or taste in dreams.

In short, dreaming may be the brain's attempts to understand its own activity. In which case, dreams don't 'mean' anything.

How this fits in with Jake's lucid dreaming, I don't know....

I had a really daft dream last night (not had an odd dream like this for ages)

Last night was a really odd dream!

I dreamt I bought an ex council house in Amesbury...but i had to hang about outside until a disfunctional family moved out..I decieded i couldn't wait much longer so I set about trying to climb some wonky ladders to put a new TV ariel on the roof!

I then decieded to go on a walkabout around Amesbury waiting for this family (who were quite friendly really so didn't want to force em out, to move)

Whilst on a walkabout I got approached by some Hoodies (odd in Amesbury) I didn't want to show I was intimidated by them so i let them approach me One of them said 'give me a couple of quid' to which i laughed and told em i was skint! Two of them then pulled small blades on me, I tried to run (but i dont seem to be able to run fast in dreams for some reason) and i dropped my Supra car keys...

I then offered them £2 to get them back and told them i'd parked my Celica down the road (trying to be clever as i knew it only said 'Toyota' on the key fob. (and bare in mind I have had attempts at being car-jacked three times in my life..all attempts failed)

This didn't seem to work..i saw a traffic warden and shouted out to her to help and as I did that i got stabbed in the chest and the back..I felt it too (odd for a dream) the female traffic warden started crying (coz she felt sorry for me as I struggled) she then picked up a concrete block and tried to throw it at who she thought were the perpertrators..but one of them she mistook produced a warrent card (he was undercover cop and nothing to do with them)and told her she could of cracked his skull open, and she shouldn't take the law into her own hands!:violin: :drown:

I then woke up:faint:

What does it mean ?(btw I ate a cheese and tomato roll from the local Esso garage before bed)

You may have been woken during a REM period. They happen typically every 90 mins or so and last a minute or two, many times per night. If you are woken after a REM period you will recal no particularly vivid dreams, however if woken during REM sleep (it will be harder to wake you) you will recal vivid, powerful dreams.

Normal sleep can be thought of as just rest and recoperation for the brain. Interesting thing for REM sleep though is that it seems to have some important reorganisational properties, deprive someone of it for a while (but allow them normal sleep) and their IQ will actually go down dramatically and general mental health suffers too!! People typically recover once normal sleep patterns are restored though.

I did buy a dream book once (doh!), total waste of money.

I think in your case maybe the dream was telling you to fit a bigger turbo though :D

Anyone hear the story about the bloke who randomly decapitated his mate with a chainsaw? Well it was on the other day because he was given a life sentance. The other night I had a dream that a cannibal did the same to me and was eating my now cut off arm in front of me! :hide:
