whitesupratt
I have bought this downpipe to De-cat my TT, but i constantly hear people on here talking about 'other mods' that need done when removing the cat, and im slightly confused Can i not just put this on, and job done? Mine is a completely standard J-spec TT.
Soonto_HAS_soop
You'll need a restrictor ring to stop over boosting, and then you should really put in a new fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator to allow for the extra fuel needed at higher boost levels. Do a quick search, many threads on this one....
GeordieSteve
You'll be needing a FCD for the raise in boost. I'd advise a restictor ring as well
Homer
You could but it wouldn't run very well. You'll also need: Restrictor ring (e.g. CW) = £10 Walbro Fuel Pump = £100 Thor VFCD = £60 Colder grade plugs = £20 Fuel Filter = £25 If you don;t have one already you will need a boost gauge: DEFI Boost Gauge & Box = £200 Do you still have the standard cat-back exhaust? whitesupratt
i still have the factory everything, just a back box
Homer
Probably worth changing the cat back too, the standard one is very restrictive. You could pick up a decent one for around £400 (RSR/NUR tend to be the best priced)
dangerous brain
Boost gauges needn't cost you £200 you could get one for a lot lot less than that. Cat out OEM exhaust in should keep the boost below 1.0 bar which means you don't need any of the other stuff. There are more types of restrictor than a 1.2 bar one, I'm sure CW does a 1.0 bar one as well.

dangerous brain
Keep the boost to .98 and you'll be ok

So i should be ok, just putting my downpipe on and having factory exhaust, Thats not the first time someone has said that to me, my local garage said unless id gone 3'' all the way, i would be ok. im in no rush to do it, but dont wana go through the hassel of fitting it, then it turns out i need the other stuff, and have to take off again! Eventualy ill get the other goodies, but im impatient...wana stick it on!

toyotasuprauk
Why do you need a new fuel filter?
China Man
I got the warbo with the fitting kit for less than that I think. FCD I got thor gauge, 2 down pipes, restrictor ring I got second hand plugs ik24 I fitted all I can myself and the rest Matt Harwood, Phenoix Not that expensive and very cost effective in terms of power gains. Going to get it RR with james those "lot" will be interesting to see the gains as I did rr there with a stock j-spec now I need to sort out a oil change and plug change. Jake
you should really put in a new fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator Unusual advice there Ben. I don't think many people change the FPR for bpu. I certainly wouldn't want one of those rising rate FPRs like the FSE one.
