Guest edgonuk
HI I have a Supra Japanese import equipped with very stiff APEXi suspension . In order to drive properly on these UK bumpy roads I need to install a new suspension that allows a smooth ride . I need an advise here What is the best suspension kit for UK bumpy roads for a smooth ride? Toyota springs and shocks? Tein Super Street? KYB shocks and Eibach springs? Help, please
Guru
All are harder than most normal road cars. Buy some 12" alloys and fit massively thick tyres is my advice
_Rob_
I had a set of Apex'i WS coilovers on my Civic and the Supes shox are a little bit stiffer than them! are the Apex'i ones the N1 or the world sport?
Dragonball
I will be going for Tein superstreets with EDC on my next one - good value IMHO...helps that I sell them mind you...

This is my mail: [email protected] what is EDC?
colsoop
The best set up for bumps would be the stock set up including stock wheels. But not everyone likes the stock look The best compromise between handling and comfort is probably the OEM bilstein dampers and stock springs. they will set you back around £400 for the dampers and put up a request in the wanted section for the springs. Guest edgonuk
I do not know! I know they are APEXi and quite hard!!! This Supra is a Japanese import and this setup was made in Japan (smooth roads). Here becomes too hard.
_Rob_
How much? This is my mail: [email protected] what is EDC? EDC = Electronic Dampening Control = you can set the stiffness of the damper from inside the cabin! very nice touch in my opinion, and if i was to switch the suspension setup on mine, i think it would be some coilevers from the TEIN range...of course with EDC. think TEIN range from about 300 quid for springs, to 900 for mid range coilovers (street) up to 1500 for top end coilovers (drift). Chris Wilson
My set up gives an excellent ride, excellent handling, up to track day usage, and longevity, by using top quality springs and dampers, and a proper geo reste to make it all work properly. 1250 fitted, assuming no adjustsers I need to reset to do the geo are seized solid. Chris Wilson
If it's an old one, or even worse, and old UK one, all the adjusters are prone to being seized!
mr keef
i think im gona be forced to go for standard springs soon, got the yellow billies, but the car is very low,and i'm sick to death of cracking bumpers off speed bumps, for some reason in and around gateshead they are fekin massive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :swear:
Prof. Monkey
We have some grey billies in the garage, taken off a 38,000 mile supra and they are in reasonable condition as well. Pm me if interested!
DShox
hey let the council build more bumps - im gonna claim for a cracked Abflug. I have Tein Circuit Master Type RAs at £1,500 for dampers and coilovers (excluding fitting) - its a thuddy but seriously pointed ride.

DShox
log onto the local council website (in the area the bump was) and write em an email complaint. they then send u a letter asking for info and photos/sketches and a quote for a replacement/repair. send it off and they either say nope or admit liability. good idea in the press - someone is designing speed bumps that sense the speed of the car and either raise up if the driver is going to fast or get lower as the driver slows.
