Hamilton
Those modifications are usually done to make your speedometer and odometer read in miles rather than km. I’d assume the box connected to the signal wire is a converter.
Paul372
I have an old speed converter wired in behind the dash, so looks like another one been wired in by the ecu is that what your saying
Paul372
Little update changed over the throttle control ecu and now the overdrive light and slip control lights have stop flashing, no more flashing lights on the dash but still not wanting to change up gear. I found this inside the throttle control ecu had some leaked and corroded components. Swapping over the old speedo converter tomorrow for a new one Edited May 5 by Paul372 (see edit history)
Paul372
Making some progress with this now, I’ve changed over the Speedo converter for a new one. Ive cut out what looked like a delimiter near the ecu that was wired into the pink wire and put back to OEM. Now the car drives and changes up gear back to normal but the overdrive and slip con light is now back on flash independently of each other again. Ric
You can read codes from the transmission rather than the car ecu. I believe the proceedure is different, as you look at the OD light rather than the engine management light https://hue360.org/en/repair-manual/supra-jza80/a340e-2jz-gte-automatic-transmission/troubleshooting page at2-34 I couldnt see your video to see what was flashing or not
