terribleturner
The pictures attached are used to test the level of stress a person can handle. The slower the pictures move, the better your ability of handling stress. Alleged criminals that were tested see them spinning around madly; however, senior citizens and kids see them standing still. None of these images are animated - they are perfectly static. http://simplyrandom.com/forum/sept/26914012688.gif http://simplyrandom.com/forum/sept/26914021479.gif http://simplyrandom.com/forum/sept/26914023764.gif

JamesG
Which website is this? The images originally came from here: http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/index-e.html It says that most were created by the maker of that site, and there's nothing at all that says that optical illusions are in any way related to stress! stevenb
Well they move when I look at them left to right and vice versa...but it's slow and then it stops once my eyes are still and focus. I'm really tired at the moment so I think I'm fine....
Digsy
Its to do with moving your eyes. If the stress thing is true then I would guess that a windy person intially sees them moving and then their eyes flit madly over the picture, just making things worse. More level headed people probably take time to take things in and figure out what is happening.

RobSheffield
Im with Digsy on this one - its where your eyes dart to, and on the first one i panicked thinking i was a paranoid schizophrenic wierdo, becasue it was dancing wildly, the next one i focused dead centre and it was fine! SupraStar 3000
Yep! I'm mad as a hatter ---------------- Try this one (posted by me a while ago) Look closely at tile A and B. They seem to be different shades of grey. They are actually the same exact shade. Don't believe it? Try opening up the image in Paint or another image editor and put the 2 tiles side by side or print the page out and fold the sides over to put A and B together.
