Thanks, yeah seems all fine so far. I think the auto ecu is holding it back a bit but i might just invest in a link ecu next year at some point. I have all the dash lights working and everything works as it should. My plan over the next few weeks is to replace the headunit and get new reg plates. Its actually fine, i have it insured with autoline on a classic policy and its €300 for the year with all the mods declared. Just the road tax is a killer, its €1495 a year or €411 for 3 months. Kearney Posted July 17, 2020 Author Share Posted July 17, 2020 So i was having some issues with a sticky rear caliper. I wanted to get a front and rear BBK at some stage over the next year. I tried every motorfactors, toyota, cross referenced from oe numbers with no joy. I did a lot of research and read up about the evo rear brembo conversion. I already have j spec brakes so i could use my own discs etc. I decided to go ahead with it and got what parts i needed. Evo 6 rear brembo calipers with mintex racing pads. I seen this very helpful post on another forum stating that the m10 bolts for the evo calipers are slightly offset to the supras m12 holes. After that, my friend who is an engineer, made up some spacers on the 3d printer after doing drawings Turned out well. These were test items to see how it will work. Will make a bracket over the next few weeks and will run it with a gs450h disc most likely Anyway, back to the rears. After getting new banjo bolts and caliper bolts. I went avout stripping off the old brakes Fit the spacers in Caliper bolted straight on securely. Supra brake line with banjo fitted evo calipers with no issue. Both are m10x1. Braked bled. Everything tightened and wheel back on Took it for a drive after it was fine. Im going to paint them when i mount the front calipers on. I sent him out the measurements and he emailed me back a to scale stencil that i printed out and fine tuned. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/11.jpg I was looking for a size of 180mm from the centre of the hub to the top of the pad inside the caliper. I cut up a small bit of 6mm plywood and worked around making a test bracket. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/12.jpg The location was perfect but for some reason I gained an extra 20mm to the top of the pad in the caliper so it was 200mm. Because the isf disc is deeper, i didn't need anything to space the caliper out more in order for it to centre on the disc. It's all nice and tight. Able to fit the wheel on. This is for the front brakes. My mate then took measurements and made up some CAD drawings. We will be 3d printing them and test fit them. The calculations were absolutely spot on. The pad sits perfectly with the curvature of the disc. Wheel fits perfectly, have around 20mm of space from the tips of the caliper to the inside of the wheel Now to just get the CAD drawings over to an engineering company and have them made in 12mm thick steel.
