Scutch0
I’ve currently got 265 35 18 rear tires fitted on a 9.5 rim et 35. I’m wanting to replace them, but I’m wanting to have an over sized look for the rear. Will 265 45 18 fit?

Scutch0
That’s fine, any need for arch rolling, I’m all stock suspension.
shaky
Try one on when you go to get your tyre on, stock should look like a tractor though

Scutch0
Ah great, any arch work needed? Stock arches stock suspension? What offset are your rims?
Frank Bullitt
Ah great, any arch work needed? Stock arches stock suspension? What offset are your rims? Nope, none of the arches have been touched. Front is 18x8 (ET 36) and the rear is 18x9 (ET 38). It looks like the OEM shocks have been fitted with unknown Red lowering springs. The car is too low and does scrub slightly on the rear now when under WOT. I’m getting CWs suspension next year so hope to raise the car which will cure this. She feels so much better and predictable for having the 40 on the rear, more comfortable too.

Frank Bullitt
Well, I got 265/40/18 tires fitted yesterday, and they rub going over even the slightest bump Arch rolling it is then Your 0.5” wider than me with a 4mm difference it offset, that’s a total of 16.7mm if my maths are correct. What make tyre did you fit? What suspension have you got fitted? Have you had an alignment done? Edited December 8, 2018 by Frank Bullitt Spelling. Scutch0
Just went for nexen Ditch finders incase I needed to change. Stock suspension! - - - Updated - - - Alignment does need doing, but it definitely won’t solve how close they are to the arch.

If I am right in working this out your wheels are 16mm closer to the lip when compared to mine. How does the tyre wall look? Is it bulging at all or flat? Dnk
Whats the camber like as that will affect the clearance I'm guessing you've got this tool to work out wheel fit differences http://www.willtheyfit.com
jjs_82
I have 275-40-18 on the rear and no rubbing
Scutch0
Yeah I’ve already checked that. The car has a fast road setup and has reasonable negative camber, as it eats the insides of the rear tires.
Scutch0
Well after a quick look today it seems my rears are et30, not 35. So that’d be why it’s rubbing! I’ve got the arch roller out and sorted it now though. I split a little of the seam sealer in the inside lip, anyone know if you can buy it? So I can dig it out and re-seal.
