mikeyb10supra
I think Mechanical are just as good as electric.....but totally upto you
edd_t
oh, so it doesnt matter! thought there might be some technical reason as to which one you need...
Soonto_HAS_soop
I got electrical, as then you only have to route cables through the car, not a vacuum pipe that could get crushed and an oil feeds for pressure etc. Plus it makes it a lot easier to remove the dash with an electrical gauge, just unplug and remove, rather than having to remove pipes and feeds etc. Plus the little HKS sensor and harnesses in the engine bay look pretty cool. mikeyb10supra
get in contact with the traders on here (envy or miami gt)........try a search on here first though, there are differences.....I purely wanted mine for safety to monitor boost, so went foor the cheaper mechanical!!! some electrical gagues have a peak hold feature, that logs the maximum boost your turbos see on each run......some people like these extra features, so purely down to your own preference + I think the electric gauges are harder to fit up as well. Nic
Edd a mechanical boost gauge will be the cheaper option, but it will only tell you the current boost. Electronic boost gauges are quite a lot more but most include features such as Peak Hold (so you see what your max boost was), Peak Warning (so you can set a warnig limit, if you hit the limit you will get a light/alarm tell you) and some have record/play back function (so you can record a few minutes of driving and then play it back) Some of those functions you may only use very rarely, the pne that is very useful though is the Peak Warning as it will instantly alert you if you over boost. Aerotop Dave
Shop around for best pricing - I got a boost gauge for the same price in dollars that a UK site was selling it for in pounds. Even with postage it was still significantly cheaper.

Dragonball
Can get you a very good deal on Blitz DC1 gauges at present - buy a set of three and I will throw in a control unit See here for info (note the deal is on DC1 and not the very similar DCII gauges) http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/2003/gauges.html
