jonny mac
Hello guys and girls ! In an attempt to retain stock compression ratio I'll be trying to use a thicker head gasket Are there any recommendations for a metal gasket? Needs to be a 2jz gte gasket with 2mm thickness however once my head is checked I'll find out if it will have any material removed and work out gasket thickness to retain the 8:57:1 ratio Any options? Or experience with gaskets you guys can advise on?
Chris88
Try Cometic (http://www.cometic.com) they're American but have Multi-Layer Steel head gaskets in a whole range of thicknesses.
jonny mac
Thanks mate, ideally looking for a UK supplier as I'm fed up paying import duty from the states. If I can't find anything here then I may end up doing it

jonny mac
Also with seeing mixed reviews online, what gasket would be best to use, a 1jz or a 2jz? I've heard you wee supposed to use the gasket that marches the head however the 2jz one seems to cool cylinder 6 better apparently.
Chris Wilson
No, he's definitely not a forum member Google Cometic Europe. How much has the head been skimmed? You could have the pistons machined to drop the CR...
