Chris88
It's got TEMS suspension. There are three basic types which you can recognise by the type of Soarer they are fitted to. Early coil spring type, fitted to the 1JZ-GTE TT (like yours), late coil spring type, fitted to the 1JZ-GTE single turbo VVTI and the pneumatic spring type fitted to to the UZZ31 V8. The early and late coil spring types look the same externally but they don't work on the wrong version of the electonics.
Chris Wilson
I have had nothing but trouble with the TEMS dampers, they often leak, and new ones are BIG money. I swap them out for Bilsteins with custom spring seats. As active suspension goes they seem very iffy. But not as iffy as the new generation magnetic fluid dampers like on some Ferraris and the Audi R8's. Whoever thought abrasive fluid in a moving piston hydrauilic environment was a good idea needs shooting
Swampy442
You can tell if its got TEMS if it has the raised black covers over the strut tops, with wires coming out, like yours has.
