Turbo timer on stock car

Hello, I have a quick question I hoped to get some help with. Is a turbo timer needed to extend the life on the twin turbos? Or could I get 100k+ miles without worrying? The car is completely stock.

Just drive off boost/low boost for the last couple of miles of the journey. Will do the same job.

Its main function is to let the turbos cool by running oil through once you have stopped, if you have been giving it large the turbos could super heat if switched off which yes, can reduce there life span..........

Just be mindful of your turbo temps especially towards the end of a journey. My turbo timer is generally used as a boost gauge.

Alright sounds good! :-) How long would you recommend to let the engine idle when coming to a standstill after normal driving and spirited driving? Might be a noobish questions, but you can never get to carefull imo :-P

My timer is set to 30 sec, get some funny looks getting out and pressing the lock button on the remote with it still running.........

Ours runs for about 10 seconds normally but I have seldom been giving it the beans. It has been known to read 30 seconds after a blast. Either way I would make the last couple of minutes of a trip, a non turbo experience.
