Cheers for all the input guys. Reading all of the above and how the car reacts, I'd defiantly say it's a turbo issue.

Cold start this morning, zero smoke, Drove the 40 mile north to Newcastle earlier with the higher boost setting, and once in town at lights, junctions etc, it was like I was a driver of an old diesel bus!!

Coming home, low boost, stop on my drive still ticking over, nothing!

The experts set it at that... JM imports. I just got them to order the bits, dropped it off and collected it... I have no idea what settings they are meant to be, I had zero input 😳

If it is meant to be no higher than 1, than that's prob why my turbos are farting smokey oil :-(

I agree with the general opinions . . . sounds like Turbocharger seals on their way out.

Having replaced my Valve Stem Seals, I can tell you that if they are bad they WON'T show up in a compression test !

And as has been said, if old and baked they will only normally cause oil to run down into the bores overnight, so you will get grey smoke on start up in the morning, but that soon clears.

But by the way . . . changing the Valve Stem Seals isn't that hard - you can do it without taking the cylinder head off if you do the old rope through the spark plug hole trick ! I was checking/changing my valve shims, so decided to replace them at the same time.
