Ok so I started stripping the car. I'm trying to do everything myself using info off the forums and Web. I'm a complete novice and I believe if I can do it then anybody can. If things go pear shaped I'm going to burn the car and call it a day[emoji16]

I plan on doing my own na-t how to guide. I already started it and will open a new thread for it when I'm done with my car.

Pics of my car as it stands now outside my house. It's been like this for at least a month.

Looks good. Will be interested to see how you get on with that manifold as I too am using a cheap eBay one, but with high quality aftermarket turbo, wastegates etc. Good luck :)

Yes I'm starting off by using all the standard stuff that came with the xs power kit and will see how it goes. As and when things pack up then I will upgrade. It might not be the"correct"way to do things but I'm curious to see how far these go.

Great to see your getting along with starting the work.

That axle stand looks really close to edge to me, you really need that on the chassis either side.

Better to be safe, rather than sorry.

Thanks bro. No worries there is a stand on the left and right.

Coming along nicely.

I do hope you're upgrading to the TT head-gasket.. If you want to push anything above 600bhp, you should think about TT pistons too.

Yes I'm a bit torn at the moment. Either leave the ge head gasket and aim for 350-400hp at a high compression which I'm told feels rapid or change the head gasket, up the boost and make considerably more power. I'm tending more towards the latter.

i am taking inspiration from josh42 build thread at the moment wrt the w58 gearbox that's still holding up for him.this is the main limiting factor.

Yeah I understand what you mean. I was the same, ideally if you're going to keep it on W58, 400bhp on high compression would be fine with a uprated clutch/flywheel. And yes they are very quick, if you go TT head-gasket and pistons etc that's where it starts to get a expensive, just look at my build lol..
