My 1993 N\A supra has just uncounted a fault in the first time of me owning the vehicle, ive just done the paper clip blink test and the blink read out the following - 1...2...1...3...4...2 but I cant seem to find such fault code, any help will be appreciated

If the ecu is receiving a different signal from either sensor it will flag a fault. From my experience it's never been the speed signal at fault its been the distributor air gap not set correctly or the wiring to the distributor.

Clear the codes and run it for a day or two and see if they reappear. They might just be old stored codes.

EDIT: I misread your response, the speed sensor your referring to is in the gearbox, that's the code 42. The code 12 is separate issue and not related to crank angle/position. I will add though that code 42 won't every turn on the check engine light.
