Protecting the car over winter whilst it's not insured

Personally I wouldn't start it just to warm it up on the spot: I don't see the point. When you start a cold engine, there'll be a disproportionate amount of wear on the components and it'll take a while to burn off the moisture that will be in the exhaust and may be in the engine oil.

This is why i let mine run for about 30 mins to stop any of that happening, been doing it for a year and the car runs fine, i only drive it if i need to and when the insurance is not over the top.

It probably is unnecessary tbh. It's just the thought of someone coming along and taking it whilst it's uninsured that worries me even though it's pretty unlikely to happen and therefore I'm just talking about making it as hard as possible to do/getting the laid up cover.

I understand the point of view, in my position it aint worth taking stuff off, and i have a car parked in front of my supra on the drive way, so for anyone to take the car they would need a damn crane to lift it over lol me i just run every now and then for awhile and clean it when you can until you are ready to drive her again.
