Steve
Have recently had RLTC fitted by Matt H. (cheers mate). Works great. But the other day was in the wet (set RLTC to wet) put my pulled away from a junction and the back end stepped out big style. Can this be adjusted to stop this happening? If so how??? Ian C
What's your minimum speed threshold? (if you can't interrogate your RLTC unit with a laptop we could be in trouble on this thread btw ) -Ian
Steve
I can hook up the laptop yes. Just not sure what to do with it when connected. As i said to you Ian its as it came out the box apart from the wheel sizes programmed in.

Ian C
Yep, chuck it my way, I've learnt a bit about RLTC seeing as it's in my car -Ian

Ian C
OK, your pulses per rpm are set to 40, and mine are 48. That's the most obvious difference I've found. It's the number of pulses the ABS sensors give off for one revolution of the wheel, and if that's wrong then it's going to throw the whole system off... Every other datfile I've got is set to 48 as well, so I suspect that may be what's wrong... -Ian
Terminator
RL send out all files with a pulse count of 40. Asked Toyota 4 years ago what the pulse count was for the MKIV and they could not come up with and answer. So I striped out two ABS sensors and counted the pulse generator teeth. 48 front and back. TBH having 40 set should not cause what you describe on the WET setting as even a small amount of spin would soon cause the zero spin allowance the system is searching for to kick in. There are minimum rpm and speed thresholds that stop the car from bogging on starts. You may be under these, when pulling away from a corner. My car always skitters a little out of junctions until the thresholds are met. However you should be able to weld your foot to the floor and RLTC keep you on track on WET. What software are you using? Version 1 of the RL windows software was known to have some glitches, it nearly cost me my car when I tried to test it when it first came out. It scrambled the wheel settings and I lost it big time, giving it some out of a junction, spun on to a verge, pulled it back and managed to keep it from swinging the other way. On inspection of the verge marks, I went in 4 feet 5 inched more and I would have dropped into a 5 foot ditch. I have stuck to Graham Rudd's software ever since. I have corrected my email address so I'll take a look too if you wish.
