pbryant_knight
HI all, Ive decided that i'm going to try to sort the calipers in my first effort to stop the wheel noise from the front passenger side. I know one is sticking slightly anyway so they'd need doing eventually. Had them freed off when i had the new discs and pads put on but don't think that did much. Was looking at rebuild kits on eBay but not sure what i would need. all the kits look different. My car is a 1996 jap N/A, can anyone post up a link of a kit on ebay that will do the job? Failing that, does anyone have some standard jap calipers that have maybe already been refurbed? Maybe after you've done a UK or big brake upgrade? Cheers Peter
Nic
First thing to do is to identify which brakes you have fitted (the J-spec Supra came with 2 options), see pics here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?249089-Supra-Brake-setups&highlight=brakes
Dnk
Give CW a call, he sells the seal kits and pistons for both types of mkiv caliper. If you have the smaller brakes, 2 piston front 1 piston rear the problem could be wear and corrosion on the sliding pin part in which case if their very bad they might not be worth refurbing
pbryant_knight
Looking at thopse pics in the thread, mine seem to be the 2 pot front one's. So if it's worth getting new ones how much is it likely to set me back?
Dnk
The calipers are approx £200 each from Toyota
