Supra Gaz Posted June 5, 2012 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Hello folks, my misses car, a 97 Mk3 Golf cabriolet, 1.8 ADZ engine has an oil leak from the front of the engine, it looks like it is coming from a sensor on top of the oil filter housing, also, the annoying oil lamp light comes on and starts flashing and buzzing when the engine gets to running temp, funny thing is, if you get out of traffic and get on a bit of a run it stops, but comes back on if it get hot again. My misses got the car towed back home when the warning light first came on, he diagnosed it as a crankshaft position sensor? Having no love for the car i have continued to drive it but just topped the oil up. Does anyone have any clue what has happened to the flipping thing? I have attached some pictures, the sensor in question has a red ring around it. I have put one of the engines sticker too.
