chilli
I'm interested to know: What spec car you have (N/A, TT, Auto, Manual, Uk spec, j-spec) how long have you had it what you are running as suspension, braking, transmission etc mods what your running as engine mods (turbos, exhaust, injectors, ecu, ebc, cams, fuel pumps etc) what boost pressure you are running what you know (or expect) to be running bhp wise any notable mechanical failures (e.g. blown turbos) and the cause if known what is your next intended mod Might be an interesting thread to see what people are up to. I'll start the ball rolling: My car is fairly stock, black J-spec RZ-S TT 6 speed manual with 18" split rims and Veilside/Top secret body 3 months approx Tein fully adjustable suspension (set very low and firm), competition clutch Cat-back exhaust, induction kit, ecu upgrade (TBA) 1 bar bhp unknown no failures to date Next mod, uk brakes and a de-cat pipe (with VFCC) most likely
Alex
Isn't this what the vbGarage is for? And this isn't technical really.... :

Alex
Though a survey of mechanical and other failure's would be a good thing...but would have to be quantified with the modification level at the time of the failure and how long it had been modified to that state for. chilli
What I was interested in really was success or failure of mods, lessons learnt and direction people were taking for the future. You could piece some of this together by trawling through endless threads and vbGarages etc but a single thread with this info might well be useful for anyone intended to mod their car further in the future, I know I'd find it useful for starters. It was just a thought, perhaps a more concise list would serve better, my original thoughts were basically: What have you done to your engine? what boost and bhp do you have? have you blown anything up (and why)? what do you plan to do next? Just to capture this info in one place. If people are tired of polls and surveys then fair enough, it's only going to work if everyone wants to contribute at the end of the day. Bobbeh
I understand Would be nice.. but thats why forums are useful, you say you want x, you'll get people respond, usually with the experience voicing their opinions. Search supraforums.com, thats as comprehensive for info about modding Supras as you're going to get.
Ian C
Plus the moment someone posts something about an ECU, pod filter, running 14:1 AFRs or something, it'll degenerate into a big flame war and murder the thread Search for and ask about one thing at a time and you'll get the idea Actually, have a look for "FSE valve" for an example -Ian
