My First Mk4 Supra.

Alarm fitted. My car had the OEM remote key option for the central locking and that caused him a few head aches. Had to remove the ecu in the end. He said he'd done hundreds of supras and that was the first one he'd come across. That is one fully loaded NA :D

Reset air bag light today, all good. :)

Full set of dash chrome rings on the way. New gear selector surround, ash tray, and ciggy lighter assembly on it's way. :)

Jobs to do :

Fit and paint new front lip.

Remove white electroluminescent dash clocks and replace with stock.

Repair ciggy and stereo wiring.

Strip black paint from dash panels and respray silver and lacquer.

Respray 17" UK specs Black and fit, (so there will be a set of weathered silver uk 17" going will legal tyres going for £100 soon).

Repaint the blade on the TRD spoiler.

Repaint and repair the scrap on the side skirt.

Get the private plate on.

Get various digs and scratches fixed.

Fix that clunk from the front drivers side (ARB drop link by the sound of it).

Nice car buddy, and nice price to for its spec! : ) - A nice cheap but very effective "mod" is to clean up the yellowing on the headlights. Few guides on here on how to do it, but really lifts and refreshes the front end. (may ofc be the angle of the photo in the 3rd pic that makes them look that hazey) - Still worth doing as most J-spec lights suffer from it : )

My father in law has a special kit for polishing scratches out of his caravan windows. Apparently this stuff is liquid magic for getting plastic like new.

We are going to give it a go and see what results we get. Otherwise I'll just buy the ones off JamieP if he still has them.

First day I've been well enough to drive the Supra and I scrap the bloody front bumper up my mother in laws wall :(. Good job it's being resprayed along with the new front lip spoiler as it's stone chipped and faded (come to think of it the bonnet and front wings could do with a blow over too). Anyway, that was yesterday, today I drove it to work and once she had warmed up I gave her death. I was quite surprised how swift it was once the revs were would in. :)

Right, time to fix the OEM amp, install the ciggy lighter assembly and OEM clocks. There will be a EL white dial kit (green/blue) up for grabs cheap once this is done.

I need to have the dash flatted back and resprayed and lacquered silver. Then I can install the complete set of chrome rings and blue LED's I have in stock.

Next will be the charge cooler sitting between the manifold and throttle body. Not sure if I should hog out the chamber separation butterfly area or leave it in and use it for the small torque advantage it gives off boost.

Then the reworked XS Power manifold (Extrude honed, machined and strengthened) with turbo support bracketing done properly with spherical bearing and clevis to allow movement under expansion.

Turbo will be a quality item, most likely a "Mr Turbo" Billet with the nitride ceramic roller bearing circa 700bhp (I might be able to buy my old turbo back off my mate).

550cc Siemens injectors, KLS igniter and ballast, 6 x Bosch T Coils, Magnacor R10 leads, Dizzy Delete.

TT Autobox with single piece Dave Mac prop (my controller looking after the gear mapping, TC lock up, paddle shift and line pressure and accumulators).

ECU Emerald K6 with EGT comp, knock, multi maps and and full traction and launch control (might be interesting on an Auto). This will also talk to my transmission controller via the can bus as well as the full compliment of TFT dash displays in the OEM 3 gauge cluster (The Speedo TFT unit is in development as we speak). Glenn K will be the first to have one of these hooked up to his Syvecs. Not sure what to connect the kick down button to, leave it for NOS later or use it for Over Boost.

Might put a bigger 80mm billet throttle body on it, but retain the cruise control.

On a different note, the new Vanhalen Album "A different kind of truth" is really good, back to vintage Eddie and Dave ;)

I'm confused, you mentioned that you couldn't afford to run a turbo but now the car's getting turbo'd?

Nice car BTW.

I will be able to turn the turbo off and run NA most of the time. It will only be used on special occasions :D

It will look nicer with the front lip and diamond cut Lexus GS300 sport wheels fitted :).

could you not just drive off boost? same thing really :p

I could, but then I like being a clever ba5tard, which is why this NA-T is going to be a little different. I'm still toying with two different size turbos in a compound configuration, maybe a blower/turbo combo (But it will be preped block, forgies, rods and a GTE head if I go that route). Basically I want no lag, at all, ever ;)

NA-T manifold acquired. £100 delivered. NOT XS-Power either (The flanges look like they have been machined true for a start ;) ).

Shame the turbo is to be mounted on the manifold via a V-Band rather than this T3 / T4 nonsense. Unless I buy back my old Mark Kitchen Billet B3030 in which case it will be a divided T3 (and 800bhp capable).

These are the dyno pack graphs from my old MK3 7M-GTE (3.1 Forged bottom end - Stock cams and valves sizes, ported, 3 angle valve job, knife edged guides & 8.5:1 CR).

Running the B3030 Billet Nitride ceramic roller bearing turbo on a ProDrive modified Autobahn88 Manifold with TurboSmart 46mm Pro gate.

(These are hub figures not flywheel so flywheel is about 585 bhp & 563 lbs/ft with a 12% loss)

Never had the chance to find out, scrapped the car after 100 miles and sold all the bits off.

Probably for the best :p

I'd love an A70, but wouldn't be able to keep it stock body or stock motor (would have to be 1J or 2J-swapped).

You can get three versions of the A70 with a 1JZ as standard you know, their pretty fun.

Sorry if you misunderstood - I was suggesting I'd have to have a JZA70 or a 2JZ swapped A70. I'm aware there are 3 versions of the A70 - GA70 (with the 1G-GTE), MA70 (7M-GTE), and JZA70 (1JZ-GTE), and that you can get hardtop and targa top in auto and 5 speed manual. I even know about the 7M-GTEU in the Turbo A :)

When I get it back into stock I'll whip the housings off and have a measure up of the compressor and turbine :)

Went and saw my bits last night. I've added the TurboSmart ProGate 48 to my collection too as the downpipe was already designed to recirculate the waste gate exhaust.

I was going to get a cheap ebay one but then I got the whole lot for £850 so Can grumble. I'm also getting my 550cc Sieimans top feeds flowed and cleaned on his asnu in that price.

Mind you, I have to strip a MX5 loom down to the bare engine essentials so he can fit the MX5 b16 engine into his Manta A.

Barter card, never leave home without it ;)

These are the Bosch T Coils just FYI :

Absolute beasts these are (wonder what they will go like with CDi up their chuff :D)

Just need ECU (Emerald K6 is in negotiation), charge cooler setup (core, pump, swirlpot, rad, piping) and TT Autobox fitting.
