its all a bit TRAIN SPOTTING

there so many things to take into consideration. getting it right every time. changing gears at different shifting points. or ar you just sticking it in DRIVE and putting your foot down?

can the in car speed meters be trusted? you have to put in weight of car too.

at drag strip you can at least get a print out of where you are and what mph you are at at certain points on track. then you can compare against what other cars have done.santapod is over an hour away from me too.keep all your slips and see how they compare with each run. i normally trap at about 114mph. thats when you dont mess up by shifting out of D into N.i always do it in manual mode with overdrive off and powerbrake.

Yep.

as above.

this one can.

if you run 3 times in a row in the same way (easy with an auto, you just press the pedal) you get the very same timings. Within 0.1sec.

That is for power estimates. Along with a couple of other measurements for rolling resistance etc.

Pretty accurate it was for the Calibra. Better than I expected.

I can save a run and datalog times etc for identifying gearchanging spots etc

can you elaborate please for an auto-newbie like meself?
