slk 230 komp intermitent missfire?

hi ,

 

the mrs little merc has a strange missfire on cylinder 1 .

 

the car drives fine for 10 mins or so but then developes a miss on 1 . if you flick it off then straigfht back on the miss is gone, then comes back after another 10 mins.

 

the obd2 is saying misfire detected on cylinder one (big help) so have tryed plugs and coils and its still the same .

 

anyother ideas ?

You need a scope to test the coils correctly also the injectors this will show you when and how long the units are firing for. a air leak will also show up as mis-fire faults, IF you can get hold of a diagnostic machine go to live data and check fuel trim this will show up any vaccum leak or overfuelling issues.
