Odin Posted September 9, 2011 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Hi guys i recently put a TT engine in my N/A and it is about to be brought back to life but now the fan doesnt fit properly - it seems as the fan would rotate it will just get caught on the upper rad hose,am i just being really stupid or is the TT fan slightly different dimensions? Odin Posted September 9, 2011 Author Share Posted September 9, 2011 (edited) The top hose is stock I believe swampy but I haven't got the shroud fitted in fact I have pretty much just sold it pending payment because I'm an idiot - didn't realise it would be something so simple..ah well better look for another shroud and learn from my stupidity. Odin Posted September 11, 2011 Author Share Posted September 11, 2011 I have taken some pics (without the fan on) of the upper Rad hose The n/a fan unit basically will get caught on the hose lip where it joins to the metal intake (which it marginally clears by like 1mm) near the jubilee clip basically when i put the fan on it seems i need to find approximately 1cm of space to clear the hose and as the nuts from the pulley arent long enough im not sure what to do?My other option is to get an electric fan and clip it onto the Rad but i dont really want to make unecessary purchases if i dont have to as this conversion has already eaten a lot of money Thanks guys James Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
dude Posted September 11, 2011 Share Posted September 11, 2011 NA fans do not fit TT engines, you need a TT fan, not sure if you can just swap blades on to the viscous coupling as we always change the complete unit, you will need a fan of some sort.
