nige
Had the supra out yesterday first time in a few months apart from last week for MOT, shes running great but I noticed the revs would drop when at a standstill like it was goin to stall, I had added some Forte feul addative for the emmisions the week before could it be this? i have used it before with no problems, I'am thinking maybe a dodgey battery conection the battery was flat when I went out to start her even though shes hooked up to a conditioner all the time, any suggestions would be appreciated guys, thank. bignum
Could be a sticky idle air control valve, for some reason when the battery is flat for a while the valve parks itself in the wrong position, normally cleaning the valve helps, they get pretty gunked up, the valve is on located on the inlet plenum towards the bulkhead and has a large pipe running around the bay to your turbo inlet. Nic
If the battery was flat the ECU will have been reset, when reset it's normal for the car to run lumpy and not idle properly, it should sort itself out after a few miles drive.
Ian C
Any time you get a dodgy idle you should check your o2 sensor voltages, as overfuelling is a cause of this behaviour. Could be the sensor is mucky and needs a clean.
