I think I may take a trip down to Ian some time, the stuff he can do to a car is unreal, that finish looks amazing mate, I look forward to seeing it end of month

He said the piaint on mine was put on with a laquer and black mixed, normally they paint them black then put the laquer over. He said he only sees it on top end cars (paint and laquer mixed), looks like TRD did a good job :)

Lexus, Mercedes etc do it to there top cars

Ian was refering to how they applied it though, not the color. If he is happy with it so am I. I am sure somebody on here who works in a bodyshop can comment, i dont have a clue just goin by what he said

All paint that colour is applied the same. It's why if you polish a black Supra you'll get a pad full of black paint, and why if you buy a touch up pen from Halfords you only get primer + colour, as opposed to primer + colour + clearcoat like most other colours.

Ahh ok, that explains the black pad thing I had when Olley detailed mine, he stopped though as he thought it was because the paint had no lacquer or something. So how do you polish it then, is it ok to have a black pad on this type of paint?

Yeh I spoke to him briefly about that. There's no other way to do it really. On normal paints you remove a bit of the clearcoat, on this paint since they're mixed you're bound to remove a bit of colour as well, you just have to be careful not to remove too much. I think the paint is very soft though, easy to correct swirls/scratches but easy to put them back on too.
