Hi all,

NICE forum!

Just a short note to let you know about an exciting new diner in Essex that is run by three dyed-in-the-wool petrolheads.

This is not 'spam' - we're just offering members a place (FOC) to hold meetings.

You guys already appear to be 'booked in' for Saturday 12th March. :):)

The 8 Ball Diner has been created with the vision of providing the best facility in the UK for any car or bike enthusiast club or group. The Diner reflects its owners’ passions for cars and bikes both new and old, 50s lifestyle, Bikes, Drags, Vintage and Kustom Kulture - but our ‘take’ on this still manages to offer the style and comfort of a truly 21st century restaurant and bar. We care about our food, our customers, and our facilities, in a way that ‘franchised’ or ‘corporate’ bar/restaurants just cannot. We are currently building a calendar of events for 2011 and onwards, with clubs ‘hosting’ a regular night, breakfast meet, or day meeting at the 8 Ball. Each night will still be open to all owners and enthusiasts, whether or not they are members of the host club. Some of our core events will be hosted by specialist magazines or internet forums, but again open to everyone.

We would love to see some more local Jap Clubs getting involved and maybe we can organise a 'Jap Gathering' night once a month as well as the MKIV meet?

We really would like to see you guys there. Please get in touch if we can help your club further in any way.

Regards,

8 BALL DINER

Hopefully a monthly meet would get lots of interest, I live in Ipswich but used to live in Essex and have lots of mates that way. The 8 ball is roughly half way between so an ideal place to meet.

Lots of us mkiv owners go to the southend meet, and I know they have a meet around Rochford which none of us manage to get down to, so maybe we could arrange it for the 8 ball instead/as well as.
