Gatso'd!

Got flashed for the first time today :(

Today I went past a Gatso in a 30 limit doing just under 30, this road opens up right aftwards so usually hoof it up to 50 a little before the nationals appear. I think that today I got my timing wrong and put my foot down too soon, thing is I was past the end of the distance markers on the road when the camera flashed.

Can I still get done for it? I checked pepipoo.com but couldn't find anything there mentioning this.

Cheers :)

Thanks guys

Unfortunately it looks like I will get an NIP for this (If there is film in the camera) - I eventually found some details on the Pepipoo site that stated the lines were there for reference only and are not required in order to pursue a conviction.

Could be anywhere from 31 to 55mph so will expect 3 or 4 points. Ah well, its my first points after 11 years of safe(ish) driving, could be worse.

Doug (Class One) said something in a recent post about 2 holes in the back of the camera that showed if it had film in it or not. Can't remember the answer unfortunatly. Have you already got points Darryl?? Insurance companies expect people to have at least 3 anyway. plus you could do as i did and ignore it and it might go away (Did for me :D ).

I have had no points in since I started driving so hopefully it won't affect my premium if I do get done. I'll go and take a look tomorrow at the camera to see the back of it... its very tempting to take a can of petrol and a lighter too... :sly:

I've ignored all NIP's I've had before (one I even signed and sent off) but never heard anything back.. might give this one a miss too, if it even turns up :D
