Their equivalent for a uk spec supra battery was £86 when i last looked, why would you pay twice as much as you can buy it from Toyota for ?

you sound like my dad Andy, :D

...It was 55 on a special, and its on the way home from work.

i cannot express how important sourcing from somewhere on way home from work is given my regular changes and lack of motivation to drive to Crawley Toyota.

Halfs do 2 batteries the cheaper is 3 and the expensive is 5 (from what i remember), i havent had a battery last me more than 2 years in nearly ten years of ownership so an easy choice,

is the toyota one guaranteed?

  • 3 weeks later...

Well guys I am back offshore have been for a week so I've not had time to investigate more. Though I've just found this solution on line 'Battery Brain' a device that will disconect contact with the battery at a set voltage.

It resets by remote control or manual. Cost 80 pounds I am going to buy this to put on when I get back, this will tie me up till I find what ever it's drainning the batteries.

If I have to leave a vehicle unused for any length of time I just disconnect one battery terminal. Over the years I have found that it saves a lot of hassle, and most vehicles will re-start after even a few months inactivity, unless the battery is truly knackered.

I disconnected it before I left the house this time as I am away for 6 weeks. I've bought a new Optima Red Top Battery, my alternator is charging. I must have a loose wire somewhere grounding the positive. I don't know how long it would take for me to find the corporate there for this device ought to keep me going till then.

Have you had this problem before on other cars? any suggestions?

Cheers, Brazil
